Dog Friendly Places and Activities

Dog Parks:

French Broad River Dog Park (West Asheville) Designated fenced dog area

Azalea Road Dog Park (East Asheville) Designated fenced dog area. Small and large dog areas.

Carrier Park (West Asheville) Trails by the River

Blue Ridge Parkway: Leash laws apply here and these fines are federal. The Mountains-To-Sea trail runs through the woods along this two lane highway. Pull offs are clearly marked. Other cars are usually there. Cross country runners abound. Another reason to keep your pooch on a leash. The "commuter zone" that runs through Asheville is not very wide. Many residences back up to the federal land.

Restaurants and Bars:

There are 150 dog friendly restaurants in Asheville. Mostly these are outdoor tables. Most restaurants in the greater Asheville area pride themselves in allowing dogs in their outdoor spaces. Something we are known for. Some of our favorites are:

Cantina in Biltmore Village

Sunny Point Cafe

Biscuit Head

Catawba Brewing
